They switch to dried herbs when the weather starts to get chillier. This is a misconception that herbs do not grow well during winter. There are many herbs that you can grow indoors during winter with a little care. You can grow a wide variety of fresh herbs in your kitchen window sill.

When compared to the dry herb as an alternative, these fresh herbs will add flavor to meals. They will add a new spicy twist to the same recipes. Sweet basil

If you want to grow basils, you can plant seeds. You may also transplant a basil plant from another place. The plant grows can tolerate transportation. It also grows fine when kept inside. When added to dishes like tomato dish, soups, stews and vinegars the sweet basil leaves stand out as a great flavor. The leaves can also be used to garnish salads and other recipes.

Chives

Chives have hundreds of uses but the most it is most commonly used in salads and dips. This perennial plant belongs to the olive family and addition of it gives the dish great onion flavor.
