3 Herbs to Relieve Nausea

Each person gets faced with feeling nauseated sooner or later, especially women who may experience morning sickness during their pregnancy. If you don’t like the idea of taking medication in this situation, you may want to consider herbs to relieve nausea.

Spearmint and peppermint

These herbs can make nausea better because they contain menthol. This has the ability to cool down the intestines and the stomach. In fact it works by soothing the muscles of the digestive tract. The advantage of mints is that menthol seems to have other benefic effects as well, such as helping with body aches and headaches.

The leaves of the mints contain an oil that decreases the pain caused by the inflammation of different body parts. There are a lot of different possibilities for you to have mint. For example you could chew gum or have hard candies. Another option that you could think about is having herbal tea.

All you have to do is to boil some water and add it to the spearmint or peppermint tea bag. Let the tea set for about 5 minutes and then remove the tea bag. Another possibility for you is to add spearmint or peppermint oil to a cup of water. This way you achieve a kind of flavored water.

Ginger

There are a lot of things that ginger is good for. It can ease the pain of the stomach and the body and it also has anti-inflammatory properties. If you would like to have more ginger, you could be thinking about teas, spices, and supplements, but you also have the option of buying ginger root.

One of the best ways to have ginger is to prepare ginger tea. This will soothe the stomach and it will make you feel better. You just have to boil some water and pour the hot water over the ginger tea bag. Let the tea brew for about 10 minutes. Then sip on the tea until you get better.

In case you would like to prepare some ginger tea, think about Yoga Ginger Tea. This is one of the safest herbs you could think of regarding nausea because it has no side effects. Furthermore, pregnant women can use this alternative option as well.

Chamomile

This is also a good herb for relieving nausea because it comes with compounds that are soothing and calming. These make the body relax, including the stomach muscles, which lessens the nausea. You can find chamomile in the form of supplements and teas.

The best thing you could do is to have some chamomile tea. You have to prepare chamomile tea just like any other kind of tea. The only difference between this tea and the others is that it tastes better, especially if you add some organic honey too.
