Easy Antiseptic Soap

For those cuts and wounds and for a general protection against the harmful bacteria and viruses that we all tend to catch up after a day at work and lots of travelling, an antiseptic soap works best. Here’s how to create the best antiseptic soap made of natural ingredients in a jiffy.

You will need:

2 tbsp tea tree oil (tea tree oil is a wonderful natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent)

2 cups clear glycerin soap base

Procedure:

Combine both- the soap base and the tea tree oil and heat until the mixture turns into a clear liquid. Now pour in moulds and allow it to set for a while.

Pregnancy Ginger Soap

The nine-month long pregnancy calls for occasional spells of nausea and uneasiness- that’s where this amazing ginger soap comes in. Perfect for an expecting mother, this soap is easy to make. What’s more, you can also use this ginger soap to instantly relieve stress and get refreshed. Here’s how to make it-

You will need:

2 cups basic soap mix

2 tbsp dried ginger flakes (you can also strain the juice from half an inch piece of ginger)

Procedure:

Combine together the soap mix and ginger flakes in a bowl, heat until the mixture becomes uniform, pour into moulds and allow it to set!

 

De-stressing Rosemary Lavender Soap

Rosemary and lavender are two wonderful essential oils that have been in use since ages to naturally curb stress and anxiety. Adding a few drops of these essential oils in your bath, or making your own rosemary lavender soap could be a good way to relax after a hard day at work. Here’s how you go-

You will need:

3 cups glycerin or normal soap base

½ tsp rosemary oil

1 ½ tsp lavender oil

¼ dried rosemary and lavender leaves

Procedure:

Start by mixing together all the ingredients in a microwave safe container, microwave it for a minute or two, until the soap mixture is clear and uniform without any lumps. Now pour this mixture into soap moulds, and allow them to refrigerate for a while.

 

Gentle Plantain Soap

Looking for some basic moisturization for your sensitive skin accompanied by gentle cleansing in your soap? Try whipping up the simple gentle plantain soap in your kitchen- it’s ready within 30 minutes and won’t irritate your skin unlike other harsh chemical soaps you usually pick up from stores.

You will need:

2 cups glycerin soap base (you can pick this up from a local store, and can also replace this for a normal soap base)

1/8 cup water

¼ cup glycerin

A bunch of fresh plantain leaves (you can also add 2 tablespoons of plantain oil if you don’t have plantain leaves)

Procedure:

Blend together the plantain leaves along with glycerin in a food processor, and strain the mixture. Now add this to the water and soap base, heat in a microwave till the soap mixture melts, and pour into molds, allowing it to set undisturbed for a while.

Skin Softening Aloe Vera Soap

Does your skin feel dull and dry? Try your hand at the do-it-yourself skin softening aloe vera soap which nourishes and moisturizes the skin, and leaves it feeling healthy and youthful.

You will need:

1 cup glycerin soap base (available at most soap-making supplies store)

1/8 cup aloe vera gel (remove the gel fresh from the bark of the aloe vera leaf)

2 tbsp nettle leaf, crushed and dried

Procedure:

Mix together all the three ingredients in a microwave safe bowl, warm it in the microwave till the soap base is melted, remove and pour into moulds. Allow it to set for a while, de-mould, and you’re done!
