5 remedies for bloating

It is hard to find someone who has not faced this irritating problem in their lives. After having a full and tasty meal, your stomach feels bloated. It is uncomfortable to move around or do your normal work. Some are fortunate to face this nuisance only occasionally, but for some others, a bloated stomach is a regular, even daily problem.

There are several possible reasons for a bloated stomach. If you get carried away during a meal and eat too much, your digestive system won’t be able to keep up with you, so you are likely to end up with a bloated stomach. Sometimes, if the food you took produces a lot gas, the gas can contribute to the bloated condition of the stomach. Also, if you have gastric problems, your stomach will produce excess acids that will give you the undesirable bloated feeling.

So, irrespective of the reason behind it, we will discuss some herbal remedies that will help with the bloated stomach.

1. Peppermint Tea

Don’t think of it as a medicine. Rather, consider it just a normal tea with a minty taste. It is very helpful for your digestive system and your health in general. Though you are free to drink peppermint tea in both hot and cold state, but I will suggest a steaming hot cup every day. This is because the hot tea is actually much more beneficial for bloated stomach and troubles with digestion. The tea will relieve the irritation of bowel, fight colic and flatulence, help you to have a better digestive system and also soothe heartburn. Peppermint tea bags are available if you are a busy person. Otherwise, you can just make it at home by boiling dried leaves of peppermint and then straining it.

2. Chamomile Tea

Since ancient times, chamomile tea has been consumed as a treatment for various troubles, especially stomach disorders. Chamomile is good for dissolving the evil gases that bloat up your stomach and is also known to be excellent remedies for hyperacidity, ulcer and heartburn. The prime characteristic of chamomile is its ability to soothe and relax, contributing to its reputed success against stomach pain. Just as peppermint, you can either get a few tea bags or make it yourself.

3. Clove Oil

Reputed to be effective against the irritating stomach bloating after a meal, clove oil helps your digestive tracts’ lining to relax, ensuring a smooth transition of the food to your stomach. A cup of hot clove tae eases the pain that is caused by a bloated stomach, gets rid of the gas that causes the inflation, solves indigestion problems and fights stomach spasms. You can take a glass of water with a few drops of clove oil for your bloated stomach.

4. Ground Cinnamon

Cinnamon has some properties which made it useful for stomach bloating, among other ailments, from a long time. It is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and is used in modern medicines. To obtain good results, you can take water with ground cinnamon, add some honey for taste, and then have it to improve your digestive tracts’ performance.

5. Bergamot

Bergamot tea is quite effective against colic and indigestion. It also helps against spasms and relaxes the stomach. You can also apply bergamot oil directly on the stomach. It will soothe the pain and your discomfort will considerably go down.

Apart from the medicines, which are all very effective, you should take some measures while eating that will prevent stomach bloating after eating. As you might have guessed, eating too much is a main cause for bloating. Eating like a tornado also does the same thing. Slow down and take your time to eat. Give the stomach some time to digest what you have already eaten. Leave the habit of drinking water between mouthfuls. You might think that it will help the food go down the stomach easily, but it doesn’t.

Drinking water is obviously good, but do it after the meal, preferably thirty minutes after you finish eating. Cut down the fizzy drinks intake and watch out for your bread. Artificially processed breads might not agree with your stomach and is likely to make you suffer.

So follow these common practises and take one of the medicines regularly, and the irritating stomach bloating will go away eventually.
