Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is caused by bacteria called Escherichia coli. However, UTI can be effectively treated by these remedies:
Baking soda
UTI has the ability to spread quickly. Baking soda can help can stop the infection from spreading. Baking soda increases the acid base balance of the acidic urine which helps to ease the pain. Gradually, the acidity will counter-balance, and you will soon recover. To use this remedy, mix one tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it at least once or twice a day. It is claimed that if this remedy is consumed regularly, chances are that you may not encounter this infection at all!
Blueberries
Blueberries are very useful fruits; they have the capability of fighting against bacteria. Mix fresh ripe blueberries in your breakfast cereal or have a glass of blueberries juice. However, don’t add extra sweetener for taste. Blueberries carry antioxidant that is said to improve the immune system and also hinder the bacteria that are the cause of UTI. So you can have blueberries or blueberries juice every day.
Cranberry juice
UTI can cause harm to the kidneys. UTI starts spreading from urethra and this infection can be stopped by the properties of the cranberry juice. Cranberry juice includes ingredients called proanthocyanidins. Cranberry juice also has antibacterial properties. Have 3 to 4 glasses of this juice every day to cure your UTI. To change the flavor, you can blend apple juice with your cranberry juice. Make sure you don’t add any other sweeteners. Moreover, a glass of cranberry juice regularly is said to have a positive impact on the body.
Pineapple
This fruit carries an enzyme called Bromelain that may be helpful to cure UTI. It has ant-inflammatory substance that decreases the severity of this infection. A bowl full of pineapple or juice of half a pineapple can be effective in curing UTI. Make sure you take antibiotics a prescribed by your doctor. It is also recommended to eat healthy pineapples rather than the canned ones as the canned ones may have preservatives.
Water
The infection must be expelled out of your body for you to have a speedy recovery. Drinking plenty of water will do this work. Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses a day. Keep in mind that the more you drink, the more you urinate, and ultimately the infection will flush out of your system. You can also drink other nutritious juices to keep you strong and to drive off the infection.
Hot water compresses
Use hot water compress to ease the pain caused by the infection. Hot water compress helps a great deal in treating UTI. In a bottle, pour some hot water and position it in your lower abdomen. You must try to do this procedure every now and then till you get rid of the pain completely. By doing so, the heat will gradually lower the inflammation and also stop the infection from spreading. Use a heating pad if a bottle makes you feel uncomfortable.
Vitamin C
Fruits such as lemon, guava, orange, kiwifruit, watermelon, melon, banana, papaya, raspberry, tomatoes, and pineapples consist of vitamin C. Increase the amount of vitamin C in your daily food menu as it helps fight off the infection. Vitamin C increases the acidic level of the urine and keeps the bladder fit. Consult your doctors if you want to take vitamin C tablets.
Apple cider vinegar
Put 2 or 3 spoon of this vinegar in a bowl, add 1 spoon of honey, and mix it with water. Drink this 3 times a day. This vinegar contains potassium and enzymes and other essential materials to prevent the spread of this infection.
Tea tree oil
You can’t eat or drink this. Throw in 10 drops of this oil, and use it to cleanse your urethra opening when you take a shower. You can also blend this oil with juniper oil or sandalwood oil and apply it in the abdominal area and near the bladder area. Use it 2 or 3 times a day.
Uva Ursi
Children, people with kidney or liver disease, and pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this herb. You can find it in any drugstore. Its antiseptic properties kill the germs and cure the infection.
