If you love cooking vegetables and fruits, chances are that you’ve probably been left with a mountain of kitchen scraps every now and again. However, don’t be too quick to throw out those scraps; make compost from them instead!
If you’ve got a garden or a lawn, kitchen scraps make a great green compost. They provide a lot of nitrogen for your plants, making them grow green and healthy.
Keep in mind, however, that not all kitchen scraps are fit to be used for composting. Meat scraps are not recommendable, since they take a really long time to degrade, and emit a very unpleasant odor while decomposing.
