These include the arid season of winter, excessively frequent hair contact with damaging chemicals such harsh shampoos, gels and dyes, overexposure to the sun, chlorine, salt water, hair dryers and extreme use of straightening and curling irons, equipments and solutions and of course genetic causes.

So without wasting more time, let us jump into the main thing – ways to cure frizzy hair with herbal essential oils. Sounds unrealistic? Try these simple steps and get prepared to be amazed with the positive difference you will get to see in your hair.
Steps on How to Moisturize Your Hair
Use this reliable method to moisturize your dry hair once a week and notice the amazing distinction yourself. Mix together:
-
1 tablespoon of each of these: honey and apple cider vinegar
-
1 teaspoon of each of these: jojoba oil, safflower oil, olive oil or avocado oil
-
1 egg yolk
-
4 drops of each of these: sandalwood, geranium and essential oils of your choice.
Stir well and apply it to all over your hair, especially on the scalp. Cover with a shower cap or towel for minimum 15 minutes. The longer you keep this, the better. Then shampoo and rinse your hair with the following mixture:
-
3 to 5 drops of essential oil of your choice
-
2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
-
3 cups of warm water
Lastly rinse your hair again for two to three minutes with cold water so that your hair cuticles can close properly.
Now what shampoo to use? You can purchase a mild one without harsh chemicals from the stores nearby or even better, make yourself one. This is how you can prepare a simple and effective home-made shampoo: mix twice the amount of hot chamomile tea or herbal infusion with liquid castile soap and a few drops of the essential oils of your choice. Make sure you choose an essential oil that is the most appropriate for your hair.
Next – the question of conditioner. Again there are two options. You can either add essential oils of your choice to a natural conditioner or you can make a homemade conditioner as well by using a few drops of essential oils, avocado, egg yolk, jojoba and mayonnaise. Apply it on your hair, leave for 15 minutes and finally rinse well using cold water to be left with soft and shiny hair.
Last but not the least is the hair serum. This homemade hair serum is considered to be one of the best treatment recipes because it addresses a variety of hair problems including oiliness, thinning, dryness or greasiness. Mix the following ingredients well:
-
4 oz. jojoba oil
-
5 dps rosemary essential oil
-
5 dps bay essential oil
-
5 dps cedarwood essential oil
-
5 dps patchouli essential oil
-
4 dps cypress essential oil
-
5 dps ylang ylang essential oil
Store in a glass bottle or jar when not using. In order to use, take 1 teaspoon of it and gently massage it on the entire scalp, beginning from your neck till your temples. Keep it like this as long as you can or for at least 45 minutes and wash it off after that with a gentle shampoo.
Thus, these simple recipes will prove it to you how essential oils are imperative in transforming your hair from dry, frizzy and rough strands into silky, smooth and healthy hair. Although there are numerous essential oils available, the best out of those for fighting frizz and damage are perhaps rose, sandalwood, sage, geranium, neroli, roman chamomile, or carrot seed. However these recipes alone cannot help you fight the war against hair damage. You must make sure you put a hat or scarf when you go out or a swimming cap when you go under water. Most importantly, eat lots of green vegetable and drink lots of water! No excuses for that!
