1) You need to get together all the ingredients. You need the following; Oats (Preferably old fashioned ones), Chia Seeds, Yogurt, milk, fruit juice, fruit.
Apart from these, it is optional to have sweeteners, Jams, preserves, spreads, Fruit sauces, purees, butters, Sweet spices, extracts and all sorts of flavors.
2) For Equipment, you will need a blender and pint (2 cup) Mason jars.
3) In the Container, put oats and chia seeds and blend them until you get a mixture of the consistency of flour.
4) Next, add the liquids, milk or fruit juice, whatever you prefer to the blender container. And mix using a spatula.
5) Add fruit, yogurt or any additional flavors or spices.
6) Blend until everything comes together and you get the consistency you like.
7) Now pour the smoothie into a 2 cup container and refrigerate It. You can smaller sized mason jars as well.
8) The mixture needs to be refrigerated for minimum 4 hours or overnight preferably.
To freeze the smoothie, you first have to refrigerate them for about 4 hours and then transfer them to the freezer.
The exact consistency of your smoothie depends on a lot of things, you can either make them thick or thin, depending on the amount of liquid you add. The texture of the smoothie depends on the ingredients that you use. To get a smooth mixture your blender should blend well, the mixture of the oats and chias should be fine and it’s better to avoid dried fruit since they leave visible bits of the fruit even after the blending.
