One thing we all have in common is life. Sometimes we get those curve balls that stress us out, or hurt us! One handy tool to always have prepared is a Simple Corn Pack. I say simple not only because they are simple to make but they are extremely versatile. I always suggest that you have three ready to go at any moment so that no matter what life throws your way you can always have a mini spa break to help you out.
All three packs have the same ingredients; cleaned dried corn, fabric (cotton is best), and a simple sewing kit. If you want to go a bit farther for your stress pack you can put dried lavender in as well. With any of the packs you can put them in the microwave to use as heat packs for sore muscles or joint pain or you can keep them in the freezer to use as cold packs for inflammation and stress relief.
These versatile packs have been used for more than stress relief, pain relief and inflammation. They have been used as pet warmers and can be used in place of a heated blanket. They are simple and wonderful.
To make these Corn Packs
1. Cut out an 8 inch by 44 inch strip of fabric. (Any proportion will work this is just a suggestion)
2. Fold the fabric in half (into a double 8×22 inch rectangle) with the bright side of the material on the inside.
3. Sew the 22 inch sides together
4. Fold the 8 inch opening about one inch
5. Turn the material right side out (so the colors you want on the put side of the pack are on the outside)
6. Sew Half of the 8 in side so that there is only enough of an opening to fill the pack with the corn (and lavender if you choose)
7. Fill the Pack with cleaned, dried corn (don’t fill it too much! If you fill it anymore than 2/3 full it might not be as comfortable)
8. Sew up the rest of the pack
9. Enjoy!
